Jousting T Shirts for Midlands Air Ambulance
You may have already spotted this article in the Bridgnorth Journal on 4 April. Here’s the T shirt design – it’ll be available on red & blue T shirts on Saturday 3 May, for sale at Apley’s Second Jousting Fair, raising funds for Midlands Air Ambulance.
“A schoolboy from Worfield Primary school has designed some extra special T shirts which he is planning to sell in support of the West Midlands Air Ambulance at this year’s Apley Jousting Fair.
At the first Apley Jousting Fair in 2013 Joe Manton aged 9 ran the stocks where customers paid to throw wet sponges at their best friend or enemy, all in aid of the Air Ambulance. When the 2014 Apley Jousting Fair was announced he wanted to raise more money for charity than in 2013 & so he came up with the idea of designing & selling special T-Shirts.
“Joe approached me with the idea of Apley Jousting Fair T shirts” said Gavin Real, Apley Farm Shop manager. “He had obviously done some market research on the prices & designs at his school, so once we had looked at the designs we decided to run with it. Joe even organised meetings with the T shirt printers, so it was all organised.”
The T Shirts will be on sale on the internet at www.apleyjoustingfair.co.uk and also on the day at a stall which Joe will run. For each T shirt sold there will be a donation to the West Midlands Air Ambulance, the nominated charity for the Apley Jousting Fair.
The Apley Jousting Fair will take place at Apley Farm Shop on Saturday 3rd May. “We have some very exciting acts booked this year” explained Lord Gavin Hamilton, Apley Farm Shop owner. “As in 2013, our lead act is the Knights of the Damned stunt jousting team led by movie stuntman Justin Pearson. They are working on a new show which will be announced shortly. We are also very lucky to have secured a special visit for the whole day by Mike the Knight and the day promises to be a great family day out.”
