Beckbury Show, Saturday 6 Sept 2014

2014 LOGOAfter the 2013 Beckbury show, I wrote a blog which I never published at the time – “Supporting local & vibrant communities”: Apley Farm Shop had a stand at Beckbury Show on Saturday. It attracted 3000 people, which is super for a very new, small local show. They call it ‘Where the country comes to life’.  What a lovely local show for a great value family day out. www.beckburyshow.co.uk. It was super – helped of course by the lack of forecast rain – but even so, it demonstrates what a wonderful community there is in this village of motivated & talented people. It’s only the 3rd year & they attracted 3000 visitors – amazing !

Here’s their press release giving details of this year’s show which I’m sure will be as much fun if not more ! Drop in at the Apley Farm Shop stand where we’ll have a display of Apley Walled Garden vegetables:

On Saturday 6th September 2014 the Beckbury Show will look to build on the huge success of last year, when over 4,000 visitors streamed through the show gates and brought the country to life in the sleepy rural village of Beckbury, Shropshire.

For 2014, we have Steve Bull, the Wolves legend & England International to kick off proceedings and open this year’s show- and as with last year’s show, there’s lots to do for all the family including: Zach’s Zoo, Bouncy Castles, Face Painting, Pony mounted games, a Mountain bike display plus village fete stalls and a traditional market … you can even ride on “Big Al” the Steam engine.

If you like traditional food and beers, you’ll be in the right place with local delights such as a Shropshire Pig roast and traditional ales waiting for you in the food marquee.

The heart of the show is always the main arena and this year there’s a packed agenda.  Whether you’re a dog or horse lover or just fancy a really good day out, the main arena will keep everyone entertained with a, Equestrian Dressage, Agility and Gun Dog displays plus a string of other activities along with local music and dance acts performing on the Beckbury stage.

Once again, the Beckbury Show promises to be a fantastic day out for all the family and the place “where the country comes to life”. There is free parking on the shows site with free entry into the show ground.  For more information on the show and what else will be happening on the 6th September visit www.beckburyshow.co.uk. All proceeds benefit local charities”, such as the Beckbury  School , Beckbury Nursery, Beckbury Church (the church bell was replaced), Air Ambulance, Diabetes, Teenage Cancer. These are just a few to which they have made donations over the years.
