Tomorrow, Saturday 27th September 2014, 2-6pm, we’re delighted the Apley Estates Multi-Terrain Run will take place, having been postponed in February as the ground was too wet for the car parking.

It’s the 3rd year running, raising funds for St Milburga’s Church in Beckbury & St Chad’s Church at Stockton, just opposite Apley Farm Shop.  Organised by the Black Country Triathletes, in the past 2 years, the race has attracted over 300 runners & raised nearly £3000 for the churches.

Organiser Christopher Wood thanked the sponsors: “We’re very grateful to all our sponsors who make this event possible & boost the fundraising. As before, the run routes include some spectacularly beautiful parts of Lord Hamilton’s private Apley Estate which will look stunning in Autumn colours.”

Their sponsors this year include local & national companies, including Wenlock Spring, providing water for all the runners at the end of the races. Other include Badger Print & Design, TFM [Telford Farm Machinery], Turner Peachy [chartered accountants], Jelf – The Insurance Partnership [insurance brokers], High5 Sports Nutrition, Sutton Maddock Vehicle Rental, Savills [property professionals], Balfours [property professionals], FBC Manby Bowdler [solicitors], Samco [groundworks], EFG Harris Allday [stock brokers], Oakley’s [lawnmowers & garden machinery], Nick Tart [auctioneers, estate agents], MSF Fitness, Postural Health Ltd, Mudrunner Sports Photography, Bradeney House [Retirement Home at Worfield] & Richard Solari Farms (Beckbury), The Dartmouth Arms (Burnhill Green) & SW Sports Massage & Rehab.

The race distances are 21k, 10k & 5k, with details of entry fees & age requirements listed below. Online entries have now closed, but runners can register on the day only between 12-1.30pm, as all races start at 2pm.

All runners finishing the races will receive momentos. Prizes will be awarded by Lord Hamilton for categories & teams. Spectators are welcome, but strictly no dogs. There will be hot & cold refreshments, cakes, soft drinks, tea & coffee available as well as a marshalled bike stand for anyone wanting to cycle to and from the event and leave their bike securely racked. There will be loo facilities as well as access to the nearby village hall in Norton.

Matthew Orme, Director of Wenlock Spring, commented; “We will be hydrating runners at the Apley Estate Multi Terrain Run for the third year running. A truly worthy cause – running in aid of local churches, St Chad’s Stockton and St Milburga’s Beckbury with the Black Country Triathletes. The latest addition to our PET range – the 250ml sports cap bottle, will be used to hydrate and refresh runners. Hopefully our Shropshire spring water will provide them with that extra burst of energy they need to complete the course!”
