Rebecca: Do you use a special recipe ?

Julie: I use stout & rum as my secret ingredients !

Rebecca: What makes them special Apley Christmas puddings (without giving away secrets !) ?

Julie: I think it’s a combination of factors, including the fact that the cakes are all mixed by hand, using handmade products.

Rebecca: Why do you think you like baking ?

Julie: I love baking & always have. I suppose because it’s so creative & fun, but also it’s a nurturing instinct, I enjoy baking for one’s friends & family.

Rebecca: Do you do this all yourself ?

Julie: This year it’ll be mainly just me making the Christmas puddings, with a bit of part time help from Santa’s little elves. Look out for them, popping in & out of the stable door in Apley’s Courtyard !

Rebecca: What pudding sizes will be available ?

Julie: We have 2 sizes for sale this year, catering for couples & families:

1lb Christmas puddings at £4.95

2lb Christmas puddings at £7.95

Rebecca: What other Christmas foods are you baking this year ?

Julie: I’m also making minced pies, Christmas iced slabs & decorated Christmas cakes. I’m sure they’ll look lovely on display in the Farm Shop & later on on customers’ dinner tables.

  • Minced pies – £3.99 for a box of 6
  • Christmas slabs – £6.99 each
  • Iced & decorated Christmas cakes – £10.99) each
