Apley Walled Garden 3 seasons gardening course

Are you a Downton Abbey fan & a keen gardener ? Shropshire’s Apley Walled Garden is neatly nestled away in the grounds of Apley Hall, in the heart of Lord & Lady Hamilton’s Apley Park. If you’re a keen gardener & feel in need of some training & inspiration, read on & sign up !

This is one of the first ever gardening courses to be held in this private 18th century walled garden. Apley Walled Garden is one of Britain’s largest walled gardens, featuring heated walls & a rare pair of pavilions. Hidden in the heart of the beautiful & historical Apley Park, the garden was restored to vegetable production in 2013. After 60 years out of use, the garden now produces tasty, local home grown traditional vegetables for the award winning Apley Farm Shop less than 1 mile away.

Head Gardener Phil Allen has National Certificate in Horticulture from Staffordshire College of Agriculture & 20 years of gardening experience, having started as under gardener at Highgrove for HRH Prince of Wales. Since joining Apley in February 2013, he has appeared several times on radio & writes a monthly gardening column for the Shropshire Review.

If coming from a distance, stay in the Hundred House Hotel, in the Estate village of Norton.
