Cheese of the week: Montagnolo Affine
Coming up in February at Apley Farm Shop, we’re all set for a lovely St Valentine’s Day & have half term activities lined up for the children in Pigg’s Playbarn.
Cheese of the week is a German cow’s milk cheese made in Bavaria for the last 300 years, called Montagnolo Affine. It’s a creamery soft cheese which has won multiple awards, including the Best Cheese in the World in 2012, ahead of more than 3,900 other competitors, so its worth trying, just to understand what everyone is so keen on ! “Using the so-called cold maturation process, it gradually develops its aromatic, spicy flavour and creamy consistency.”
Cake of the week is one of Julie’s favourites – banofee pie.
