Lord Hamilton’s Essentials range in Apley Farm Shop
When Gavin & I get the chance to chat with customers on the Shop floor, some ask what we’re eating at home. This is leading to a Lord / Lady Hamilton’s Essentials range (his & mine are quite different, believe me !).
When I packing late on a Sunday afternoon, about to return to London, he very kindly packs my fridge / food bag, filling it with all kinds of delicious foods, 99% of which come from Apley Farm Shop of course. Here are some of this week’s specials in our kitchen – soup mixes by Saison ! & Cottage Delights (I eat soup for lunch most days), Atkins & Potts pasta sauce (a store cupboard essential) & Oak Apple Catering’s cheese sables (as good as Rae Parnham’s in Norton !). This week he added some handmade heart shaped salted caramels by Holdsworth, which are awesome & come in beautiful boxes !
This week, of course, it’s Apley Walled Garden mizuna & local Shropshire asparagus – I can’t get enough of either ! Asparagus is on offer (whilst we can get it) – £3.50 per bunch or £6 for 2 bunches (I especially love this tips photo of it).
That leek and potato soup mix is dreadful I’m afraid. Tastes of virtually nothing and the texture is unpleasantly leafy.
