Apley Plant Centre nearly ready
After a busy Saturday with all the children home & Gavin away, I made it just before closing time to catch up with a few people at Apley Farm Shop, including Melanie Arrowsmith & her colleague Mark who are opening the Apley Plant Centre, a branch of the very well established Worfield Nurseries.
The Apley Estate team have been landscaping & finished the wall with the very stylish round gateway. Mark & Melanie have made such progress setting up the polytunnel & getting planters in place, ready to be filled.
I took them to Apley Walled Garden for the speediest possible visit where we admired Phil’s amazing progess (Mark did wonder if he was Superman) & the most recent brassica (cabbage family) cages (the pigeons got them last year). We parked just outside the garden gate, amongst the cows & one bull, returning to find our car totally surrounded & lick marks all over the windows !
Part of the house in the photo will give us some much needed & very welcome new office space. Back home, I tucked into a plate of very tasty Apley Walled Garden baby spinach.
