Hoping you had a very Happy Christmas

Christmas anemones, out early due to the very mild 14 degrees

Hoping you had a very Happy Christmas. I love this time in between Christmas & New Year, reflecting on 2015 & preparing for 2016, hearing from special friends & family. After church & a brunch, we took the children on a long bike ride before a late Christmas lunch, which ranked (I asked as I put them all to bed) second only to opening stockings as the best bit of the day – lovely to hear.
For lunch we enjoyed of course a completely Apley lunch of free range turkey, Apley Walled Garden flower sprouts & purple sprouts, local roast potatoes, Apley Christmas puddings & Apley mince pies. When we finally got round to present opening, Francis soon disappeared behind the sofa with a new box of lego where he stayed for nearly an hour in silence, finally emerging triumphant like Caractacus Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Apley Farm Shop is open again Sunday 27 December & Monday 28 December (10-4pm both days) – perfect if you’re feeling like getting out & about again or to do a spot of post-Christmas sale shopping. If you’re preparing for New Year’s Eve with friends or family, you can Click & Collect in our online DeliShop for MacNeil’s cured salmon (very like smoked salmon) & many more delicious treats with which to see in the start of 2016.
