Venison & the venison sausages made by our own butchers onsite, are hugely popular items, in short supply & high demand. So it can now be reserved in advance. When next at our butcher counter, request the cut you want, leave your contact details & you’ll be contacted as soon as it’s available. It’s hung for 2-3 weeks, so as soon as we hear some has arrived, they’ve got 3 weeks to contact those customers.

Our local venison is from fallow deer. Bucks (male) fallow deer are in season 1 Aug to 30 April whilst doe (the females) fallow have a slightly staggered season – from 1 Nov to 31 March. So there’s only a maximum of 3 months left this year to enjoy this very tasty & lean meat.

There’s some in stock at Apley Farm Shop right now, so drop in tomorrow (Sundays, we’re open 10-4pm) to snap up yours ! If you can’t make it (too far, too busy), try our online DeliShop (click & collect). Sometimes (it’s very subject to availability) it’s on our Specials Menu in the Creamery Cafe – call Zoe to check (01952 730 345 ext 2) & book in for a venison lunch !

PS. Come & meet our local deer expert is often at our events throughout the year, to share his immense knowledge of deer & deer management, eg. Sun 5 June for Open Farm Sunday.
