Easter orders are being taken at Apley’s butcher – here’s the form which you can pick up in Apley Farm Shop. If you can’t make it to the shop, just order via our online DeliShop. As it’s National Butchers’ Week this week (14-20 March) go & check out the daily special offer, different each day.
Lora’s created a wonderful Easter display in the farm shop of Easter hampers & Easter chocolates, whilst Melanie in Apley Plant Centre is all ready for spring planting & sent me this update “We have plenty of spring stock now in. Potted bulbs – plenty of variety. Barbara Austin 9cm herbaceous range – a great range to start spring early planting with. Herbs, alpines, herbaceous, some trees, heathers in full bloom. Camellias in bud ready to bloom very soon. Plus many more interesting finds! Multi buy offers to take advantage of too.”
Our Easter display includes these great Easter present ideas – chocolate ducks & mini eggs £4.25; ‘Image on Food’ gingerbread from £3.45; Marshmallows ducks £3.45; mini Easter eggs £3.25; White Belgian Praline chocolates £4.95; lovely products from ‘A Farmers’ Daughter’ including mugs £9.95 & tea towels £6.75; & Hopping Mad Easter beers from Wood’s Brewery.
The Hop & Stagger Brewery brew across the field from Apley Farm Shop a range of 4 beers especially for us – Gardener’s IPA, Gamekeeper’s Gold, Harvest Porter, Woodman’s Bitter (from £2.45 per bottle or £8.50 for a 3-pack gift set).
Our next event is the Apley Easter Funday on Easter bank holiday Monday, 28 March, 10-4pm. It’s a free event, though charges may apply to few activities. Families love these days – full of things to do for & with the children – Easter egg hunt, bonnet parade, Easter egg pinata, egg on your face, egg & spoon races & much more !
Another diary date is our first ever Apley Bake Off on Mon 2 May – the first of the May bank holiday Mondays. Again 10-4pm, I’ve invited 6 chefs to give demos then lead masterclasses (places are limited to 8-10 people, so sign up early on the day!), a children’s cookery corner & a cake / tart competition (judged at 2pm with great prizes!). It’ll be this spring’s most unmissable culinary event!
