Activ8 at Apley Farm Shop

Activ8 will be running fun, outdoor & sporty holiday clubs at Apley Farm Shop this August. Last week, I caught up with Dan Wilson, their MD, when we drafted this press release with the details:

Activ8 set up in Telford as an after school & holiday club provider in September 2014 & also run clubs in Shifnal, Newport & Priorslee. 

Dan Wilson, Director of Activ8 told me “Apley Farm Shop is a new great venue for our children’s activities with the field space, the Skylark Nature Trail & Pigg’s Playbarn. No doubt, parents will appreciate the easy access & parking, the Creamery Café & the farm shop itself.”

Activ8 offer a wide range of multi-sports including football, hockey, tennis, basketball, parachute games & dodgeball. There will also be some art & craft activities each day in the Pigg’s Playbarn party rooms. Plus the children get the chance to play in Pigg’s Playbarn at the beginning & end of each day. 

Apley Farm Shop have a lot of customers with young children, looking for fun things to do in the school holidays & Activ8 really fill that need. So it’s a win-win arrangement for everyone. 

They’re starting with a taster day in the May half term week on Friday 3^rd June (9-3pm), then their summer holiday dates are these are always on Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays: 27^th, 28^th & 29^th July (week 1); 10^th, 11^th & 12^th August (week 2) & 24^th, 25^th & 26^th August (week 3).  Each week culminates with a presentation of awards & goodies to all the children.

Full day (9-3pm) sessions cost £15, half day (9-12noon) sessions cost £8.  Children with Telford Loyalty Card (TLCs) get a 20% discount. These days are perfect for primary school children aged 4-12, boys & girls.

Gavin & I are delighted to continue our links with Activ8 in this way as getting children out & about, active & sporty is so important for their well-being – improving concentration, co-ordination & social skills, as well as building confidence & combatting obesity.

Francis (6) is thrilled to bits – Activ8 is his favourite holiday club, so you can imagine his delight when I told him they were holding sessions at Apley Farm Shop ! I think his favourite bits are dodgeball & the awards at the end of the week !
