Apley Easter funday photos

Bambi – Easter fancy dress competition
Steve Watts of ‘A Decent Exposure’ shared with me these fabulous photos taken at the Apley Easter funday. It proved a very popular day & helped (due to the chilly day) that the activities were held indoors in the beautiful old dairy building (which luckily was free, as it’s currently available to let).
Next event is of course the Apley Bake Off on bank holiday Monday 2 May (10-4pm) when we have some great prizes for the cake & tart baking competition as well as for the mini masterclasses – so fill in an application form, choose any recipe & get practicising for the big day. Bring in your entries on the day by 12:30 as judging starts 13:00 to be ready for prize giving at 14:00. It’s open to everyone – all ages & levels – though we ask professionals to say so upfront !
Plus here are a few other snippets of Apley news – whilst I was off this afternoon, Gavin, Venetia & Francis went exploring (Francis’s favourite thing ever) & discovered the cisterns & tanks / reservoirs for watering Apley Walled Garden. I’ll share photos tomorrow & invite my industrial archaeologist friends to look.
Friday 3 June, an author Jess Hiles is visiting Pigg’s Playbarn – that’s the last Friday of the May half term. Same day at the taster day for Activ8 – sign up by calling Dan on 07904 944 833 or emailing info@activ8education.co.uk.
I’ll share details of the Apley Plant Centre Medicinal workshop coming up on 18 June. Also the Big Little Things (I call them BLT) floristry workshops.
We donated an Apley Farm Shop hamper to the Ludlow Charity Race Day last week & were delighted to hear it raised £664 in aid of the Midlands Air Ambulance Help Appeal.
On Saturday 9th April, Hobsons’ Brewery will be offering free tasters at Apley Farm Shop (10-2pm) of their new range of 330ml canned beers called the Hat Collection.
Soon the fields around the farm shop will be covered in yellow flowers of oil seed rape & asparagus from Quatt is nearly ready ! It’s truly one of my favourite foods.
