Apley Farm Shop, Touching people’s lives

Valentine’s Day – couple who got engaged in our Old Dairy cafe
An elderly customer who died recently, had been a staunchly loyal customer of Apley Farm Shop. Her son said her visit was the highlight of her week. Our General Manager Tina went along to her funeral when Apley Farm Shop was even mentioned in her eulogy.
Lisa our cake baker was recently asked to make a lemon meringue pie especially for another customer suffering from cancer. His carer emailed later: “He loved it, thank you. It was lovely to see him enjoying eating it, especially as he is going through a tough time, we both appreciate you helping with this special request and I even got to sample it too! It was delicious please say a special thank you to Lisa for agreeing to make it. The comments it received from other people were lovely too. Thank you both so much you came highly recommended and I’m so pleased you were able to help.”
I met Julian Elcock when we first moved to Shropshire, running the PQ Academy holiday clubs for children. His son Jake Elcock found Gavin recently in the Creamery café to thank us for letting him film on Apley. The film he did got him into a good film school & now he is off to Venice to direct a feature film. He is very grateful.
St Valentine’s Day seems ages ago now, but we had some lovely news just after that a couple got engaged having tea in the Old Dairy. We felt very honoured to have been the chosen location !
Then just after Mothers’ Day, a lady who came to the Mothers’ Day Afternoon Tea sent a message via Facebook to thank us: “Today I have spent my first Mother’s Day enjoying afternoon tea at Apley Farm Shop. I would just like to say a massive thank you to the staff, who were warm and friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. It was our first time visiting the farm and we will definitely be coming again soon. Thank you once again xx “
