Apley Farm Shop’s Open Farm Sunday

Open Farm Sunday, tractor biscuits by Lisa

Hose pipe fun at home as temperatures reached 26 deg!

Farrier needed our ponies for his demonstration, so we dropped in on our way home
Just when I was returning from another horsey event with our daughters, Gavin called me from Apley Farm Shop where we were holding Open Farm Sunday again. Our farrier Jason Davies had kindly agreed to give demos, but really wanted a live horse or two of course. So we dropped in on our way home & Scout got a shoe refitted in front of interested members of the public.
It was yet another successful Open Farm Sunday. I have lots of ideas for 2017 already including getting the sprinklers out in temperatures top 20 degrees again (rather unlikely I know!). The trailer rides & steam engine rides were as always the most popular, after the bale tunnel. Francis & Venetia painted farm animals on the Paint & Create stall run by Charlotte Hilton, opening in the Old Dairy on 2 July. Thankfully, Steve Watts was there taking photos, so I’ll share those tomorrow. I only wish I’d had a chance to taste Lisa’s tractor biscuits before we left.
