Apley Walled Garden cucamelons – delicious mixed into salads in our Creamery Cafe

This evening is perhaps the last of these wonderfully hot September days, so Gavin finished off his day harvesting tomatoes in Apley Walled Garden & came back to slow roast them in the Aga at home with the very tasty Bennett & Dunn rapeseed oil. They’re even better than sun dried tomatoes & never last long in our kitchen!

He also came armed with cucamelons & these white aubergines which I’m sure will quickly end up on a plate in our Creamery Cafe tomorrow & over the weekend.
