Gardeners’ Question Time – Fri 19 May
When the weather is this awful, why not book yourself into something in the spring or summer, starting with Gardeners’ Question Time at Apley Farm Shop. It’s a charity event organised by the Telford Centre Rotary Club to raise funds to help eradicate polio completely.
The panel of expert gardeners will include:
David Wassell MBE – Landscape designer & Chelsea Gold medallist in the prestigious large gardens category; head of landscape contracts London Royal Parks including St James’s Park & the garden at 10 Downing Street
Phil Allen – Head Gardener of Apley Walled Garden, Horticulturalist & occasional gardening expert on BBC Radio Shropshire.
Paul Shuttleworth – Paul will host our Question Time on 19 May. He also hosts BBC Radio Shropshire’s popular Sunday Garden Questions programme
The programme for the evening
- 5:30pm – Meet at Apley Farm Shop off the A442 South of Norton
- 6-7:30pm – Conducted tour of the nearby beautiful & historic Apley Walled Garden in its lovely setting on the Apley Estate
- 7:30-8pm – Glass of wine & canapes (included in ticket price). Barbecue (not included in ticket price) also available
- 8-9:30pm – Gardeners’ Question Time (approx. end time)
Further information
In the event of inclement weather please bring waterproofs & or umbrellas & suitable shoes. Some walking is involved over rough or possibly muddy ground.

Apley Farm Shop (TF11 9EF*) is just off the A442 between Bridgnorth & Telford, on the south side of the village of Norton, known for its Hundred House.
* don’t go to Stockton church which shares the same postcode!
On arrival, please have tickets or copies of booking confirmation with you.
