Phil is back at Apley Walled Garden, but also back on the BBC Radio Shropshire Gardeners’ Question Time slot with Paul Shuttleworth today, Sunday 22 January, 12noon – so get ready to tune it to get answers to your gardening queries.

He sent me these progress photos on Friday from the Walled Garden. Veg of the month, Jerusalem artichokes, are fab for making winter root veg soups. Try with parsnip & masses of ginger, with bread from Swifts bakery (sold in Apley Farm Shop).

New for this year, after early evening tours of the Walled Garden, we’re just finalising menus for picnic suppers to enjoy in the garden itself – a totally magical place to be on a summer’s evening.
