Ironbridge Gorge Walking Festival, 29 April to 7 May 2017
Be part of the Ironbridge Gorge Walking Festival for the next week with Neil Cartman of the Ironbridge Walking Group. Two of his walks pass through Apley Estate, both of which have been fully booked for some time. However even though there is a fantastic number of 550 people booked onto the walks, there are still some places on some of the other walks. It’s a great way to see Shropshire up close.
If you want to join him next year*, here is this year’s plan for the Apley walk: “Go 9 miles out to the Apley Farm Shop, 6.5 miles around the Estate & then 5 miles back to the Iron Bridge. Approx timings are:
Start 07:30
Apley Farm Shop 10:45
Coffee 15 mins
Estate walk 11:00 (lunch some point)
Return to Apley 13:30
Coffee 15 mins
Iron Bridge 15:45
That tells you 1) it’s an early start & 2) you will need to be fit !
Anybody who joins in must be fully aware that the Apley walk is only allowed as part of the Festival & with prior permission of Lord and Lady Hamilton.
Neil can be contacted on 07759 47 54 08 or info@ironbridgewalking.co.uk.
*Next year’s festival is 5-13 May 2018
