We’ve had a fabulous day at Apley Farm Shop today. I was ‘runner’ for Agata & Amelia who were doing their second day of filming, the first having been mostly in Apley Walled Garden yesterday. Having started with the butcher preparing the day’s meat cuts, we began with breakfast in the Creamery Café, where I spotted this delicious smoked salmon & scrambled egg being served. There I caught Agata & Amelia on my camera working together to produce what I’m sure will be a wonderful snap shot of life today at Apley Farm Shop.

Chef & Gardener, work closely together

Phil (gardens) works closely with Martin (chef), so I was glad to catch this photo of them together as Phil had dropped in to be filmed in an extra clip.

In the Apley Estate Yard, Jason had cut & painted me a rabbit, based on something I’d seen in a Paris shop window in 2010 ! He looks great & definitely announces that Easter is coming to Apley. Very close by, free tasters were on offer from www.TheSauceQueen.co.uk.  Well worth trying.

In Pigg’s Playbarn, there were several birthday parties taking place throughout the day & I couldn’t help noticing these 2 fantastic homemade cakes – a tractor in the field & the owl.

Scotty’s Brahms chickens

Agata & Amelia got some footage in Elizabeth Beckett Skincare, Alley Katz Toy Shop & Lottie’s [fashion]. Children & neighbours kindly agreed to be our models, even though sometimes we just needed a glimpse of a hand or an arm, for example, in the film shot.

Scotty’s covered sand pit

Whilst Amelia filmed some children feeding the lambs at Scotty’s Animal Park, being I completely adore these Brahma chickens which come from the river Brahmaputra in  India which I spotted at Scotty’s Animal Park as well as their covered sandpit where these triplets were playing.  Tony Scott has added this delightful pair of rea birds, originally from South America.

All day, I saw our lovely team of staff working so hard to make visiting Apley a great pleasure for all our customers.
