Apley Christmas – article in December’s Shropshire Magazine
Well-known Shropshire journalist Shirley Tart MBE & a photographer for the Shropshire Magazine recently came to see us all & here’s the result which Lauren has just scanned over to me. Francis, being 6, found the camera experience the most exciting – luckily, as he’s definitely the most photogenic of us all ! I had no idea what the title would be & when I saw it, it made me smile as occasionally we take Francis & Venetia to a local cafe for hot chocolate & pudding if they’ve finished their homework (sometimes in pyjamas) & we play Happy Families (aged 6, he’s just getting the gist !).
By chance, when we arrived at the shop, there was a big puddle which Gavin promptly swept up, Willow was offering free tasters of her awesome mince pies & Tina was serving free tasters of Apley Park Mulled Wine – from a 1933 recipe of Thomas Gray, butler to AW Foster who was the last Foster to live there.
